Description
A cozy bowl of porridge infused with chai spices and the sweetness of ripe pears, perfect for chilly mornings.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup rolled oats
- 2 cups milk or water
- 2 ripe pears, grated
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 tablespoon maple syrup
- 1 pear, sliced
- 1/4 cup pecans, chopped
- Double cream for drizzling
Instructions
- Combine the rolled oats and milk (or water) in a saucepan over medium heat. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and let simmer for about 5–10 minutes, stirring occasionally until creamy.
- Stir in the grated pears and cinnamon, mixing well until combined, allowing the flavors to meld beautifully.
- Sauté the sliced pear in maple syrup over low heat until tender, allowing them to caramelize slightly and become sweetly aromatic.
- Serve the porridge in cozy bowls, topped with sautéed pear slices, a sprinkle of crunchy pecans, and a generous drizzle of double cream.
Notes
Make ahead by preparing the porridge in advance and storing it in the fridge. Reheat with a splash of milk in the morning.
